Praised for her “shining vulnerability” and “plainly hard-earned, rigorous, technical foundations,” Ryanne Claritas is a legitimate actress and soprano known for embodying her mission statement— “revival of the classical feminine”.

Having left home at age fifteen, taken the more holistic, classical, apprenticeship model of artistic training, rather than today’s standard, institutionalized, academic model, and very much identifying as working-class, Ryanne is passionate about bringing real beauty back to the forefront of culture. She believes that the appreciation of beauty belongs to the heart of every human being, and is not dependent on the validation or critical training of any academic institution or organization, no matter how elite.

Ryanne recently made her Off-Broadway debut in Xmas Isn’t Just for the Asians as Woman 1, and before that was seen in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Opera's production of Die Fledermaus, where she debuted in the role of Adele as a last-minute replacement. She had previously covered the role with Opera Modesto just two months prior, concurrently performing the role of Ida, earning acclaim for her elegant interpretation and vocal precision. Earlier in 2023, Ryanne performed the roles of both Juliet (Romeo & Juliet) and Ophelia (Hamlet) in the new work Dream With Me– Shakespeare, Sondheim, and Bernstein with Storm at Bay Classical Theatre.

Regionally, Ryanne has brought life to roles such as Hannah Jelkes in The Night of the Iguana, Curley’s Wife in Of Mice and Men and Miranda in The Tempest, all with Storm at Bay Classical Theatre. Other notable performances include The Music Man (Zaneeta/Dance Captain/Swing) and Amahl and the Night Visitors (the Page).

Career highlights include leading roles in Broadway Classics and Summer Classics, where she portrayed beloved characters that influenced the foundation of her work; including Guenevere (Camelot), Luisa/THE GIRL (The Fantasticks), and Laurey (Oklahoma!), among many others.

Born and raised in California, Ryanne began her training at UCLA and continues to refine her craft under Gregory Berger-Sobeck (acting), Joann Zajac (voice), and Peter Randsman (opera, operetta, legit music theatre).
